Offensive?

What has society come to? Is it so touchy that everyone has to watch what they say in order to make everyone happy?

"God Bless"

"God damn it!"

"Oh my God."

"Merry Christmas!"

Things like this that make people offended. But, have we takin it too far? In our American society, there are a lot more religions than we think. When our forefathers wrote the constitution, what do you think they meant by freedom of speech?

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

So, taking this into context, aren't we given the right to say all of this? People should understand that some things are best unsaid. Or is this a contradiction to freedom of speech?

Keep the peace people. Its all we've got left.

  1. People are so touchy because it is offensive. I see where you are coming from but you have to realize that those who have passionate relationships with God take these kinds of terms not only as a personal disgrace, but as a slap in the face. I can't truly make a statement about your religion but it sounds like you aren't Christian, so to put it nicely taking the Lord's name in vain for you is like being punched in the gut.

    Best Wishes,

  2. Thank you very much for your creative criticism and also your cool sense of reality. But I do have a question. What exactly do you mean by "being punched in the gut?"
